Game Time! Scooby-Doo & Scrappy-Doo Game Review

Scooby-Doo & Scrappy-Doo Game

Year: 1983

Ages: 6-10

Players: 2-4 (For the purpose of this review, there were 2 players)

Set Up Time: 1 minute

Playing Time: Took us 13 minutes

Object: Be the first player to bring your Scrappy-Doo Playing piece to the finish space.

Review:
+ You are essentially playing two board games in one because whatever happens to your Scooby-Doo pawn on the outer board game will affect your Scrappy-Doo pawn on the inner board game.
+ The winner of this game is constantly changing. Just when you think you are far enough ahead of the other players pawn to win, your Scooby-Doo piece will land on a board space that will send your Scrappy-Doo piece back behind the other players piece.

- There are four different Scooby-Doo pawns that you can choose from, however the makers of the game are so cheap that they didn't make any Scrappy- Doo pawns, only little colored cardboard circles. Come on people!
- You can only play the outer game board as Scooby-Doo and the inside game board as Scrappy-Doo (despite their being many other characters in this universe).

Overall:
The game is inventive by having two board games going on at the same time with one affecting the other and board spaces constantly changing who the winner is so you can never feel too safe. I wish the game maker would have spent a little more money on the game and made actual Scrappy-Doo playing pieces instead of cheap colored cardboard circles and also given you the option of playing with other characters besides Scooby-Doo. Overall, it started out as a fun game because you got to play two games in one but by the end it became repetitive and less of a thrill.
