Game Time! Star Wars: Escape From the Death Star Game Review

Star Wars: Escape From the Death Star Game

Year: 1977

Ages: 7+

Players: 2-4 (For the purpose of this review, there were 2 players)

Set Up Time: 1 minute

Playing Time: Took us 10 minutes.

Object: Be the first player to reach Rebel Base after escaping from the Trash Compactor on the Death Star.

Review:
+ You have two playing pawns to use on the board (Luke & Leia and Han & Chewy) making it easier to collect both needed cards.
- Everything in this game needs to be landed on by exact count. I spent many turns just rolling the dice and moving over all around the spots I needed.
- There is not much to this game. You need to collect two cards from spots on the board and then head to the Millennium Falcon. The winner will almost always be the player who spent the least amount of time trying to get exact count to land on every needed space.

Overall:
This game wasn't anything special and aside from the Star Wars character pictures, it could have been a race to anywhere. Although it's great to have two different pawns to use throughout the game, the fact that you need exact count to land on every space makes it very frustrating and takes up the majority of the playing time. Of all the games played, this one doesn't make a great lasting impact on me.
