Game Time! Operation: Star Wars Edition Game Review

Game Time! Operation: Star Wars Edition

Year: 2012

Ages: 6+

Players: 1+ (For the purpose of this review, there was 2 players)

Set Up Time: 2 minutes

Playing Time: Took us 6 minutes.

Object: Be the player with the most credits after all 12 funatomy parts have been removed.

Review:
+ The original version used to buzz when you hit the sides but in this version R2-D2 makes sounds.
+ The money comes in $500 bills and $100 bills making it easy for kids to count and distribute.
+ The cards are very kid friendly and all feature rhymes about the part you're trying to remove, which I'll admit, I got a kick out of as well.

- This game is way to easy. We played until all 12 pieces had been removed and not once did we hit the sides, or have any type of trouble pulling the pieces out. I'm pretty sure the holes were made bigger than they were in the original version.
- I prefer games that require no batteries, but we have some on hand for the times they require a double A or two. This game however requires FOUR TRIPLE A batteries which seems a little extreme.

Overall:
I haven't played Operation since I was a kid so I was excited to play it again, only this time helping out R2-D2 who somehow got 12 items randomly placed in his body. R2-D2 makes noises when someone hits the metal side, the money comes in two easy denominations and the cards are very kid friendly with rhymes for each item. For kids this game would be great but unfortunately it was too easy for us adults. We successfully removed all 12 items and never once hit the side or had any trouble removing them. The other unfortunate thing is the fact that this game needs four triple A batteries, which is not the most common battery people have extras of.

Upgrade Or Not:
If you're purchasing this game for children (around the recommended age of 6) then yes, re-purchase this game as the kids will have a blast. However, if you're purchasing this game for an adult, I'd go with something more challenging.
