TV Opening Sequences: Downton Abbey

Downton Abbey (2010- Currently)

Originality: 3/5
My favorite part of the intro is the end where it shows the picture of Downton Abbey because if you notice you can see it cast an exact shadow of Downton on the ground. To me this is a perfect way of showing that not only do we see the Lord and the Lady's story and side of things but that we also see the maids, the kitchen staff and the people who actually run Downton's side of things. It's such a great way of sophisticatedly showing two sides of the house at the same time.

Theme Song: 4/5
Since this is a period piece, I really believe that the music is suitable. It has an older classic sound but it's soft and elegant.

Informative: 3/5
In some ways it's informative because we see a lot of the things that the staff at Downton do like setting the tables and cleaning the chandler but it misses out on showing the things that the Lord and Lady of the house do. I would have liked to have seen both sides of the house given even intro time.

Overall Score: 67%
