#9) Peter Rabbit
Debut Year: 1902
Peter Rabbit first appeared as a character in a children's book series which contains five books released from 1902 to 1912. The character of Peter Rabbit became so popular that it quickly released must-have merchandise which included the first soft toy in 1903 making Peter Rabbit the oldest licensed character. Peter Rabbit appears in the 1971 ballet film The Tales Of Beatrix Potter, HBO's Storybook Musical in 1991, BBC's series The World Of Peter Rabbit And Friends in 1992. Peter Rabbit made a comeback in 2012 starring in Nickeloden's CGI series Peter Rabbit, which is still on the air and there's been talks about an animated/live action adaptation of the Peter Rabbit character which is scheduled to be released in theatres in 2018.
