Bad Judge: Episode 1- "Pilot" Review
I'm not quite sure how some of these shows even make it to airing on TV. After the disastrous Bad Teacher in the spring, who thought it would be a good idea to air this, or even title it the same way. Maybe the show description ("bad") shouldn't be included in the title.
This series managed to improve on a main problem that Bad Teacher had (the main character was very unlikable), but it still had it's own problems. Though Rebecca Wright (Kate Walsh) is likable, I'm not able to take her or this show seriously when her lines involve things like "dude" and "I will cut you", it comes across very unbelievable and very hard to watch. Even characters in the show refer to her as "little miss train wreck".
This pilot episode didn't feature one joke that I even remotely chuckled at and it lacks substance. Networks need to keep in mind that banking on the main actress to pull in ratings, doesn't always work (see: "The Michael J. Fox Show" or "Sean Saves the World") There is nothing here that kept me interested and I imagine that it will be pulled from the schedule and replaced by the end of the year.
Grade: D
