#15) Bunnicula
Debut Date: 1979
Bunnicula, the main character in the children book series by James and Deborah Howe, is bunny with vampire-like qualities. After the first book proved much success it was followed by 6 others between the years of 1982 and 2006. After that series completed James Howe started a spin off series titled "Tales from the House of Bunnicula" which were written by the puppy that was introduced in the original series. There is also a book series called Bunnicula & Friends which are intended for early readers. In addition to the books a stage play based on the books premiered in 1996 in California and it looks like a whole new generation will be introduced to Bunnicula when an animated series will debut on Boomerang in 2016.
